LAL SINGH JI BHATI



A renowned name in the world of Indian art and heritage Lal Singh Bhati began his journey from a small village ‘Kapooria’ in Rajasthan. Now a master artist and owner of the esteemed Umaid Art gallery (est. 1984), Jodhpur. He has honed a wide repertoire of skills over the years of gold embossed on leather, Jodhpur style miniature painting, stone engraving, clay moulding, pottery, plaster of Paris, leather works, live portraits , oil canvases, wood work, metal work , ceramic work and miniature painting in gold and silver. The visionary  artist recognised the need for a space that celebrated Indian art and cultural heritage and Umaid Art gallery soon became a sanctuary for artists, designers and seekers of Indian artistic traditions.

His contribution to the art world has not gone unnoticed. Being bestowed with a plethora of prestigious awards and honours, his biography has found it’s place in notable publications such as UNESCO ‘SEAL OF EXCELLENCE’ . His impact extends far beyond honours as he has been a relentless champion for promoting and restoration of Indian art.One of his most cherished roles has been that of a mentor, imparting his artistic knowledge and skills to hundreds of students.
