This appropriately titled ‘Adbhut’ (wonderful) abstract painting is a high contrast painting of complementary colours enhanced with a a textured feel. ‘Adbhut’ is one of the many names of Lord Vishnu. The artists’ depiction of Lord Vishnu with the use of bright yellow to paint the silhouette of the four armed deity with his mukut ‘crown’ standing as a towering figure, revered as the cosmic centre of the universe.
The deep and thought provoking concept of a formless, everlasting Universe that resides within the preserver (Lord Vishnu) ,which is the central concept of Hindu mythology, is ingeniously presented in this seemingly simple abstract painting.
