Pichwai Gulaabi shrinathji
Shrinathji pichwai with shringaar
Qualities of love, compassion and tenderness are accentuated in this Pichwai painting of Shrinath ji (Lord Krishna) with the use of playful colours.
Shrinath ji is often depicted wearing an ornate Mukut (crown) or in this case ‘Mor-mukut’ literally translated to crown made of peacock feathers. It is said that the peacock feathers in his crown serve as a reminder of his mischievous childhood in Vrindavan and also as a symbol of Radha’s love that He carries with him. The depiction of the unopened lotus bud on is right signifies potential and possibility for growth and transformation right next to which is Krishna’s flute, symbolic of the human soul, which, like a hollow reed can become an instrument for divine expression.
